For My Princess

My niece Kendall turns 4 on the 31st and she is all about the Disney movie, Frozen.  On her last visit, she constantly sang one of the songs that Elsa sings, while twirling and dancing from one end of the house to the other.  (Hello Kitty has been put on hold for now).  She will be in town for her birthday and we will have all of the trimmings on her special day, including cupcakes made with blue frosting and edible glitter.  I could not give her a card that did not coincide with the whole theme and so I came up with this.
As much as I really, really wanted to make her a card with my beloved Magnolia stamps, I just could not find a Tilda amongst my collection that would pass for Elsa.  Though I did use the Jingle Jangle Snowflake from the Christmas Story collection.  :D

The image I used is a coloring page that I found by searching "Frozen Coloring Pages" on Google.  I printed it in a light gray tone so I wouldn't have harsh black lines, and then colored with Copic markers.  I did the background using a technique that Zoe of Make It Crafty had published in an issue of Magnolia Ink magazine, which hid the snowflakes that were on the image.

I used three different embossing powders (listed below) and Star Dust Stickles for lots of sparkle.  I didn't make my own flowers this time but colored white roses with B0000 and embossed them with two different powders.  There is a snowflake charm tied on with the white ribbon that you can barely see it in the first picture.
I used these Copic Colors:  Skin - R000, E000, RV21, RV19, V01  Eyes - BG13  Brows - E74  Hair - E50, E51, E70  Dress - BG10, BG13, BG49  Cape - B0000, B000, B00  Background - B00, B02, B04, B06
"Yes, you are the fairest of them all". - Isn't that just too sweet?

I'm so glad you stopped by and I do hope to see you again soon.  Please leave a comment and let me know what you think.  Have a great day and better tomorrows!

For My Mom

Good Day Everyone!  Thank You for stopping by, it's so good to see you!  I hope all is well on your end.

This is going to be short and sweet since I have another card to get finished before tomorrow morning.  Today I am posting the card I made for my mom for Mother's Day.  (Crossing fingers that it makes it to her on time).  Mom loves her garden but unfortunately the weather still isn't cooperating for her to get it started.  Maybe this'll cheer her up.
I've used Seeding Tilda and Barbed Wire Background stamps by Magnolia.  The sentiment at the top is by Tim Holtz.
I've colored them up with these Copic markers:
Skin - E000, E00, E02, E11, R20  Hair - YR21, E08, E17, E18, E19  Dress - RV000, R81  Apron - E50, E51, E55  Boots - YR21, YR24  Seeds - Y26, Y28, E29, B21, B34, B39  Sky - BG0000, BG000, N0, N2, 0  Grass & Clover - YG03, YG11, YG17, V05, V09, V12  Butterflies - YR16, Y17  Dirt - E23, E25, E27, E29  Fence & Posts - C3, E33, E35, E37, Ec9

The die I've used for the butterfly is one of a trio by Cheery Lynn Designs, the sunflower is from Susan's Garden by Sizzix and the roses are from Rose Creations by Spellbinders.  I used a set of Martha Stewart punches for the border around my image and dressed it up with half pearls by Recollections.
I made this into an easel card and kept the inside very simple using a sentiment by Inkadinkado.

Thanks again!  Have a fantastic day!

Thinking Of You

Hello Friends! Thanks for stopping by!

Today I am posting my first commissioned work.  This was made for a very special lady and I'm crossing my fingers she will like it.
This is Tilda Blowing Hearts.  I stamped this image using London Fog by Memento and colored her with Copic markers.  This is the first time I've tried coloring a lighter outlined image.  I have seen it done many times before and like the effect, but I wish now that I would have colored the eyes a bit darker.
I made the daffodils with a punch and half of a scalloped circle.  I just love making my own flowers.
As you can see from the side the daffodils stand up pretty high, almost a half-inch, so the fence and banner had to be popped up with some really thick foam dots to achieve a uniform look.

I have so many cards in the works right now that I must get back to work on them.  I thank you so much for stopping by to take a peek and would appreciate you leaving a comment so very much.  Have a great day and better tomorrows!
