Celebrate the Christmas Season

Good Saturday Morning to You, My Crafty Friends!

I hope your December is going good so far.  Mine is off to a crazy busy start and I doubt it will calm down any time soon, as I'm sure a lot of you are in the same boat.  That being said, I will make this short and sweet.

Today kicks off another great challenge at the Tilda's Town Challenge Blog and our theme this week is Celebrate Christmas.  I hope you can come and join in on the fun for a chance to win a $10 gift voucher from the Tilda's Town Store.

Here I have Snowy Tilda from the 2012 A Christmas Story collection.  I have colored her with my Copics and pencils and used Distress Inks for highlighting.  As you can see I have, once again, used the MS Aspen Snowflake border punches.  I love snow, and since I don't get any in my neck of the woods, I use it on my cards when I can.  :)

Thank You so much for taking time from your busy schedule to visit.  It really means a lot to me.  All of the supplies I've used are listed at the bottom of this post.  Stay safe this holiday season!

♥ Laura C.

PS Thank You too for your wonderful comments.  They really make this experience so much more fun!

Joys Of The Season

Good Morning to You My Crafty Friends!

Today is the start of another fun challenge at the Tilda's Town Challenge Blog where our theme this week is Joys Of The Season.  That, right away, made me think of how much I loved the snow and watching the gorgeous array of birds that would come to my feeder in the wintertime.  I miss that so much.
Here is Christmas Kitchen Tilda from the latest Magnolia stamps collection, Waiting For Christmas.  I've colored her with Copic Markers and accented everything with Distress Inks.  I have listed all supplies I've used at the bottom of this post.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by to take a look.  I hope you have a great weekend and a most joyful Thanksgiving.

Tilda's Town Challenge #129 Anything Goes

Hello Crafty Peeps!  I hope all is well on your side of the computer screen.  I know, it's been a month since my last post but things have been CRAZY for me around here and I'm having the hardest time getting my head on straight.  I got a new job that has me working a lot of hours and trying to focus on anything else is taking every last bit of energy I have and then some.  So I hope you will bear with me throughout this holiday season.

Here is my latest make for the Tilda's Town DT and our challenge this week is ANYTHING GOES.  Easy Peezy, right?  I hope you can join in the fun and share your latest creations with us.

These are the Sparkle Poinsettia Tilda and the Christmas Poinsettia stamps from the latest collection, Waiting For Christmas.  I so love all of the images out of this collection.

This picture is in a little bit darker light.

For the background paper I used Sparkle Snowflake trio (also from the Waiting For Christmas collection) and Christmas Poinsettia images.

Here is one of the tags you see at the top of the card.  I used Tilda's Tag and Snowflake Border DooHickey's Dies.

Here I die cut two Primitive Hearts from an old Sizzix die and below, the sentiment is cut using Spellbinders Labels Eight.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I am honored that you would take the time as I know how busy we can all be.  More information on the supplies I used can be found at the bottom of this post.  Have a great day and better tomorrows.

♥ Laura C.

PS Thank you too for your lovely comments.  They mean so much to me and always make my day.

Advent Calendar - Tilda's Town Challenge #125

Happy Saturday My Friends!  I hope your having a fantastic weekend.  I am running very late today and I apologize for that.  Today starts another fun challenge over at the Tilda's Town Challenge and that is to "Use Your Christmas Stash".

I was inspired to make an advent calendar after seeing so many talented and crafty ladies show off their gift box makes on the Noor Design Blog.  So this is my spin on that design and I was finally able to use this adorable Magnolia stamp.

This is Christmas Tilda With Puppy and she came with the #6 edition of 2012 Magnolia Ink Magazine.  She seems to be having a wonderful Christmas...

This design can either be used as a calendar or a Christmas count-down.  Speaking of which, there are only 74 days left until Christmas.  EEK!

Copics - Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13, R20 - Hair: E33, E35, E37, E50 - Dress: G94, BG99, W3 - Lace, Bows & Vest: R29, R56, R59, R89 - Stockings & Tag: E50, E51, W1, W3 - Shoes & Basket: E70, E74, E79 - Puppy: Y21, YR21, YR24, E99

Since I'm running late, I won't be long winded.  A list of products can be found at the bottom of this post as well as a list of challenges I am entering into .  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Have a great day, and better tomorrows.

Wintery Lantern

Good Friday To You My Crafty Friends!

Today I am posting a project that I made for myself which is something I haven't done in a long time.  You know how it goes when you're trying to keep up with with birthdays and holidays, a job, family time...
I guess you could call this a lantern as it has four sides and a candle in the middle.  I saw a similar thing on Pinterest HERE and my brain started spinning on how I could make one with stuff I already have.  This design makes me think of the scene from Frosty The Snowman when he and Sharon are in the greenhouse.  Crazy, right?  LOL!
I cut the four sides from white cardstock using my Cricut and the Ornamental Iron 2 cartridge and edged with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  I then randomly stamped three Magnolia Snowflakes (from the latest release) onto craft plastic and heat embossed them with Ranger's Holographic Embossing Powder to create windows.
The Poinsettias, Snowflakes and Tags adorning the outside are from the Magnolia DooHickeys Club 2 collection and the fern is from the Magnolia DooHickeys Leaf & Swirl set.  The snowflakes and leaves are covered in holographic embossing powder.  The tags and poinsettia flowers are pink cardstock edged with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink and the green leaves are white cardstock inked with Bundled Sage Distress Ink.
I painted a wooden napkin ring white to use as the base of the candle in order to lift it up to a good height.  The tea light is wrapped in Doodle Bug Dotty DP.  A touch of lace here, some pearls there and voila!

I made the mistake of putting the four sides together before embellishing.  Don't do that!  Especially if your panels are delicate.  There isn't a lot of structure to hold all of the flowers and leaves, and getting them glued into place while it's standing up is a nightmare.  :p

Thank you so much for stopping by and taking a look, I really appreciate you taking the time.  I hope you like my creation enough to leave a comment.  I just so wish the pictures did it justice because this is so shimmery and sparkly in person.

Have a fantastic day, and better tomorrows!

Tilda's Town Challenge #123 FAF or CAL

Good Saturday Morning To You My Crafty Friends!

Today is the start of another wonderful challenge over at the Tilda's Town Challenge Blog, and this week we challenge you to make something Frilly and Fancy or Clean and Layered.  One lucky winner will receive a $10 Gift Certificate to Tilda’s Town online Magnolia store.  Pop on over and check out the gorgeous creations my teammies have created for your inspiration.

For this card I used Tilda with Love Cake from the Magnolia 2012 With Love collection.  Don't you just love her checkered pants!?  The Bowl is cut from an old Sizzix die that I haven't used in ages.  The flower is cut using Spellbinders/Heartfelt Creations dies and stamped with Versa Mark with the coordinating Heartfelt Creations Stamp, then sprinkled with Holographic embossing glitter.  The large photo corner is by QuicKutz.

I typed this sweet little recipe on my computer and then free handed the outline.  I put real sugar in the little glass jar/charm.  I tried to tie a double bow with the antique seam binding but could not get my fingers to work the way they were supposed to.  If you have any tips on making double and triple bows, please let me know...

Another angle to show the embossing glitter on the flower.

Tilda's Town Challenge #121 - Anything Fall

I LOVE FALL COLORS!!!

Actually, I love color in general but I do lean toward bold, fall colors.  My living room and kitchen are painted pumpkin butter, the couch is cranberry red, the recliners are a kind of mossy green and I have bold blue, deep red, gold, brown and orange accents.  I even have a large, red cabinet in the kitchen that holds my cookbooks.  So pretty much all of the colors in my card are in my main living areas.  LOL!
This is Tilda with Cock-A-Doodle-Doo The Rooster.  I have colored this pair with Copic markers, shaded and highlighted with colored pencils and inked everything with Distress Inks.  I cut the cornstalk and fence with the Cricut, the doily, pumpkins, corn and "welcome" are QuicKutz and the grass is a punch by Fiskars.

 Copics used:  Skin - E000, E00, E11, E13, R20  Hair - E33, E35, E37, E50  Dress - BG10, BG72, BG75, BG78, Y0000, Y11, Y13, Y15  Chicken - YR21, YR24, R20, R22, R24, R29, Y21, Y28  Seed Bag - Colored Pencils  Seed - Y15, Y21, Y28, E31

This is Calista Flockheart, egg layer extraordinaire and greeting card model.  She's looking very shabby at the moment with molting season upon us but it was her coloring that I wanted to mimic for the image.  Molly Hatchit is the shy one hiding behind her.  She will have her chance to model soon.  :)

Be sure to pop over to the Tilda's Town Challenge Blog to see the fabulous creations my super talented teammies have created for the Anything Fall challenge and be sure to visit the store where you will find the best selection of Magnolia stamps and dies anywhere.

Tilda's Town Challenge #119 - Creative Fold or Tag

♫ ♪  Over The River and Through The Woods To Grandmother's House We Go  ♫ ♪

That song was playing in my head the whole time I was making this card.  LOL!

This is my DT make for the Tilda's Town Challenges and this week we're asking that you use a Creative Fold or Tag.  I have no idea if there is a name for this type of cut and fold as I just kinda made it up as I went along.  I knew I wanted to create a path with a larger peak at the back and smaller ones in the front.  I went through many pieces of paper trying to get it to look right and be able to fold it flat.
The card is 5 x 7 so it's easy to mail but I had to use two pieces of cardstock glued together to give it a sturdy structure, otherwise it wanted to bow in some places and sag in others.
My images, Welcome To A Sweet Christmas and Edwin's Snowman, have been colored with Copic markers.  All of my die cuts were cut out of white paper and either inked with Distress Inks or covered in holographic glitter (or both).  As usual, the plan changed and this went from being a mostly white design to being quite colorful.

Tilda's Town Challenge #117 - Flowers

Good Saturday Morning My Crafty Friends!

I am finally settling back into a somewhat normal household routine and enjoying the heck out of being back in my craft shed.  Note to self; Don't EVER leave your Copic markers behind again!
Here is my DT card for the Tilda's Town Challenge and our theme this week is Flowers.  I could not resist making another Christmas card because this is the time of year when I'm already getting geared up for the holidays and I'm so excited.
This is Joyful Tilda from the 2012 Christmas Story collection.  I've colored her up with Copic Markers and accented just about everything with Distress Inks.  That gorgeous little kitty is from the DooHickey dies set called Paris Night.  My tag base is another DooHickey die called Tilda's Tag and the gingham bow is hand cut.  I made the poinsettias using Spellbinders dies and used texture paste and holographic embossing powder to accent.  More information on what I used can be found in the supplies list at the bottom of this post.
